Keep your address private
Your bio and listing descriptions are public. Here is what to leave out, and how to share details safely.
What is public on FriendaPet?
Your listing descriptions, photos and videos are visible to anyone browsing the site, including people who aren't logged in. The bio on your seller profile is public too.
That means anything you type into those boxes can be read, copied and saved by anyone, and search engines can index it.
Why keep your address out of them
A street address, phone number or email in a public listing can be used by scammers and by people you never intended to hear from. It also exposes your home, and the animals in it, to anyone who finds the listing.
Keeping contact details off public pages also keeps conversations inside FriendaPet, where your messages are protected and our team can help if something goes wrong.
How to share your location instead
Your listing already shows your city and state, which is enough for buyers to judge distance. Add details like the nearest town or a handover preference in the description if you want, without a street address.
Once you have chosen a buyer you are comfortable with, share your address, a meeting spot, or a phone number in a FriendaPet message.
Meeting safely
Where you can, arrange the handover somewhere public and well lit, and bring someone with you. Don't feel pressured to share personal details early. A genuine buyer or seller will understand.
If someone presses you to move off the platform, pay in an unusual way, or share contact details right away, treat it as a red flag and report it.
