Questions, answered
The answers to the questions we hear most from buyers and sellers.

Got questions?
How does payment protection work?
When you reserve a pet, your payment is held securely in escrow — the seller isn't paid until you confirm you've actually received your new pet. If something goes wrong before delivery, that payment was never released to begin with.
What fees does FriendaPet charge?
Listing is always free. Breeders and private owners pay a 6.5% commission, only on a completed sale — shelters and rescues never pay any commission at all. A separate platform security fee (3.25% of the price, with a $5 minimum) is added to the buyer's total at checkout on every transaction.
What if the pet isn't what was described?
Don't confirm delivery until you're satisfied. Once a purchase is confirmed, refund and health-guarantee requests are handled directly with the seller according to the refund policy listed on their profile — this varies by seller, so check it before you buy.
How do I list a pet for sale or adoption?
Create a FriendaPet account, then use the List a Pet flow to publish your listing. Breeders, private owners, shelters, and rescues are all welcome.
Is FriendaPet available everywhere?
FriendaPet connects buyers and sellers across the US. Availability of specific pets depends on what sellers in your area have listed.
